Bungalows & Cottages

Modern Bungalow Design

New bungalow with hip roof and cross gable. Single garage and bay window. Brick faced front, vinyl siding.

Traditional Bungalow

1960’s bungalow with hip roof and wood shingle siding.

Rancher

A rancher is simply a large bungalow. Typical characteristics include a wide front, central front door and double garage.

Chalet Style Bungalow

Contemporary bungalow with chalet style roof.

Raised Bungalow

A raised bungalow with the basement at grade level. The foundation could not be installed into the ground as usual because of bedrock which would require blasting.

Foundation Home

An occupied concrete basement with flat roof. Originally Intended as a regular wood framed home but was never completed.

Waterfront Cottage

A simple pitched roof construction with long overhang to provide a veranda. Most likely has three or four rooms, a well and septic tank. Resting on concrete block or in-ground concrete posts.

Cottage

A simple structure constructed as a cottage with few modern features or finishes but later enlarged for permanent family use. Nearing the end of its economic life. Regular concrete foundation.

Cabin

A two room cabin suitable for temporary use such as for hunting trips, agricultural or forestry workers ccommodation. Typically the services are primitive with outhouse and pump. There may be no electricity service. This property is now derelict.
